Jie's Wonton Soup
Thanks to Jie for her recipe for this delicious wonton soup. Some items are to taste, so we don't have exact measurements -- be creative!

  • (1 lb.) Pork, Ground
  • (4-5) Shrimp
  • (1/3 oz.) Rice Wine
  • (1 tbsp) Light soy sauce
  • (1 tbsp) Roasted sesame oil
  • (1 tbsp) Light olive oil
  • (To taste) Sea salt
  • (To taste) Ground white pepper
  • (To taste) Sugar
  • (To taste) Five spice powder
  • (To Taste) Chopped Ginger
  • (To taste) Chopped onion
  • (1 Pack) Wonton Wraps
  • (About 8 cups) Chicken stock

To make the inside of the wonton, mix all ingredients together and pinch about a chestnut-size ball of meat and wrap it up.  Seal with a little bit of water.

Bring the chicken broth to a boil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Drop the wontons, one by one into the broth. Let them cook until they float to the top (~4-5 minutes). Let the soup simmer two  more minutes. Garnish with the remaining green onions and a dash of soy sauce and serve immediately.
