Thanks to Jie for her recipe for this delicious wonton soup. Some items are to taste, so we don't have exact measurements -- be creative!
Ingredients
- (1 lb.) Pork, Ground
- (4-5) Shrimp
- (1/3 oz.) Rice Wine
- (1 tbsp) Light soy sauce
- (1 tbsp) Roasted sesame oil
- (1 tbsp) Light olive oil
- (To taste) Sea salt
- (To taste) Ground white pepper
- (To taste) Sugar
- (To taste) Five spice powder
- (To Taste) Chopped Ginger
- (To taste) Chopped onion
- (1 Pack) Wonton Wraps
- (About 8 cups) Chicken stock
Directions
To make the inside of the wonton, mix all ingredients together and pinch about a chestnut-size ball of meat and wrap it up. Seal with a little bit of water.
Bring the chicken broth to a boil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Drop the wontons, one by one into the broth. Let them cook until they float to the top (~4-5 minutes). Let the soup simmer two more minutes. Garnish with the remaining green onions and a dash of soy sauce and serve immediately.
